Alison Gannett is a champion free skier from Crested Butte, Colorado. She
has earned many world titles including World Cup Free Skiing Champion, South
American, Japanese, and Triple Crown Championships; Gravity Games Medalist,
Film Segment of the Year, and Free Skier of the Year. She is featured in
many ski films by Teton Gravity Research and Matchstick Productions
including: Uprising, Ski Movie, Sick Sense, Harvest, No Mans Land and
Empress. A ski mountaineer at heart, she has organized and filmed several
expeditions: an all-women's first descent of the NW face of Hanuman Tibba
(5980m), India, in 2001; the first-ever ski expedition - "Betties in Bhutan"
in 2002, and the first historic women's retrace of Mont Blanc, "Corsets to
Crampons," in 2004. In her spare time she enjoys teaching women's camps,
works to achieve her full international guiding status, designing straw bale
homes, ethno botany, ice climbing, surfing, mountain biking, and Iyengar
yoga.
